Privacy & service notes

Porch Voice is a Gicrosoft experimental service for people who own or have permission to control their Ring devices. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ring or Amazon. It is not an emergency, security monitoring or identity-verification service.

Your account and Ring connection

Your Porch Voice password is stored as a salted scrypt hash. Your Ring password is used in memory to sign in and complete verification; it is not intentionally saved. Your Ring refresh token and optional AI provider key are encrypted at rest on this server. Server administrators operate the service and can technically access its runtime; encryption at rest is not end-to-end encryption.

Google sign-in

You may sign in with Google instead of creating a password. Google provides a verified account identifier, email address and basic profile information during sign-in. We store the account identifier to recognize your workspace; we do not store Google access or refresh tokens or request Gmail, Drive or Calendar access. Google-only accounts use Google account recovery. Google sign-in creates a separate workspace and does not automatically merge an existing password account. Contact info@gicrosoft.com for account or data-removal help.

Recordings and images

Your uploaded audio and rules are stored in your own workspace on the Oracle server in the United States. Audio uploads are limited to 15 MB each, converted to WAV, and truncated to 30 seconds. You may keep up to 50 recordings and remove unused ones in the library. Use audio you have permission to play. The latest camera/test image is held in worker memory; this service does not intentionally archive camera footage. Temporary test-image files are removed after processing. Runtime activity logs are limited to 100 entries in memory.

AI is optional

Fixed audio does not require an AI provider. If you enable visual rules, choose a supported provider and explicitly allow image sharing. Camera images and rule text are then sent to that provider using your API key. Its terms, retention and charges apply. AI classifications can be wrong; low-confidence or failed classifications stay silent. This service does not identify named people from their faces.

Automation and access

Automation continues when you close your browser or sign out, and resumes after server restarts if you left it enabled. Use Stop automation to stop it. Disconnect Ring to remove the saved Ring token. Uploaded files and configuration remain until removed. Other users cannot access your workspace through this service's normal interfaces.

Beta limits and account recovery

This beta has limited capacity and no uptime guarantee. A registration recovery code allows you to reset your password; keep it private. There is no email recovery. Credentials, uploads and automation should not be used for safety-critical purposes. For data removal or account help, use the contact options on Gicrosoft.
